Children’s Amaryllis Challenge.

This makes a great Christmas gift for Children as they can do it over the Christmas holiday and continue growing on until it flowers.

You can either buy a pre-prepared kit for each child but if you want the challenge to be a little more creative you could buy a bulb and a plain pot that is suitable for decoration.

When I did this I created two separate parcels one for each of my nieces.
Each present had a bulb and a pot (or the kit) then I placed them together into a larger box which was addressed to both girls, along with the two parcels I placed an envelope which contained the challenge. Such as who can decorate the best pot, whose plant is tallest when it flowers, which will flower first? Also in the box was a small prize(s) for the winner. I just used some sweets, wrapped up. You could include the compost in the parcels but I didn’t as I knew Mummy and Daddy had some. It would be good to add growing instructions for the bulb; these can easily be found on the internet or sometimes at the garden centre when you buy the bulb.

Have fun and come back to the blog and show me the results.
